ISA Wenhua High School of Guangzhou (International) offers a wide range of curriculum options for students from grade 9 to 12. Under the framework of IB, the high school encourages and respects the differences of students, and provides the most suitable education programme for each individual.

Built upon the IB framework, students in Grades 9-10 follow the integrated IGCSE programme, which helps them strengthen subject foundation, develop learning skills, and explore a wide range of subjects. ISA Liwan IB Diploma Programme

A globally recognized leader in international education and cultivates lifelong learners with an international mindedness

IBDP is a programme designed by IBO for students at age 16-19 years old. It is one of the most influential international courses at present, drawing on the advantages of curriculum systems from different countries. The structure is comprehensive and balanced, and the quality evaluation is strict and standardised, which is conducive to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality and exploration and innovation abilities.

So far, over 5,400 schools have been established in over 140 countries. Students from early years to G12 can find suitable programmes for them. IB Curriculum has provided education to improve students’ intelligence, emotion, personal development and social skills, which eventually prepare them for future study and work life.

ISA Liwan A Level Programme

Highly developed, recognised and specialized international qualification

A Level (Advanced Level Programme) is a highly developed and standardized curriculum system. The standards and content of high school are supervised by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). U.K. Most universities and Higher Education institutes recognize A Levels as a suitable entry qualification which has the same impact on students as Gaokao to Chinese students. There are official textbooks for A Level teaching, and the detailed syllabus and resources are also a great support the quality. Students can choose 3-5 subjects for their examination based on interests and advantages, which can save them more time for preparation.

A Level examination result now has been acknowledged by universities in some popular overseas study destinations for Chinese such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore and 110 regions and countries. Also, students with excellent A Level results can apply for scholarships and awards from universities. Therefore, A Level has been regarded as the gold standard of high school academic achievements and an entry ticket to the top universities around the world.

The Curriculum

ISALW A Level provides a General Certificate of Education Advanced level Curiculum. Students who have completed IGCSE courses can enjoy a seamless transition to A Level programme when they continue their high school study in ISA Liwan. In lSALW A Level, students can choose 3 to 4 A Level subjects and one EPQ/IPQ as the examination subjects while practising language skills for IELTS. The subjects for A Level are: Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics. At and Design, Biology Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Economics.

For art enthusiast who wants to apply for art majors in the future (to global universities and art schools)

The ISA Liwan International School Visual Arts High School Program (G9-G12) adopts a small-class teaching model to comprehensively enhance students' artistic creativity, critical thinking skills, and hands-on abilities, seamlessly preparing them for admission to art colleges and universities in countries like the UK and the US.

The AP Program offers college-level courses and exams that you can take in high school. ISA Liwan has officially received authorization from the College Board to offer AP (Advanced Placement) courses (CEEB Code: 428848). Taking AP courses and exams in high school could give students an advantage in college by letting students:

  • Earn College Credit and Placement: AP score could earn college credits before even set foot on campus.
  • Stand Out to Colleges: “AP” on high school transcript shows colleges students are motivated to succeed, and taking the exam demonstrates students’ commitment to tackle and complete college-level work.
  • Save Money and Time : Earning credit or placement can open up time on schedule or even let students graduate early.

  • With over 25 years of deep involvement in the field of international education, Delinda brings extensive leadership experience from top international schools both in China and abroad, including the International School of Beijing (ISB) and  SAS. She has served as the Chinese Principal, Deputy Head of School, and Executive Director of the Education Research Institute at BIBA.
  • Delinda is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education at the University of Bath, holds dual Master’s degrees in Education from the University of Bath and Chinese  from Nanjing Normal University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the College of New Jersey in the United States, and has earned both Principal Certification from PTC and Beijing Normal University.
  • Delinda serves as an Industry Mentor for master’s students at East China Normal University and leads the Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications program. As an early practitioner of IB education in China, she has long served as a leader on the IB official Evaluation Leader and as an examiner, and is a member of the Accrediting Commission for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
  • Several of her papers have received first- and second-place awards for outstanding achievements from provincial and municipal education associations. She has published numerous papers in academic journals and international conferences, with some research results being fully reprinted by *Renmin University Copy Materials*. She has also led educational research projects in Beijing.
  • Committed to the holistic development and career planning of students, she has guided students in gaining admission to world-renowned institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, Columbia University, and Peking University.

Nyn Ren
Deputy Head of ISA Liwan Secondary School (International)
  • Nyn has worked at several renowned international schools, including HT NANJING IMPACT ACADEMY. With 17 years of practice in teaching and school leadership, she has taken part in three school start-ups from the ground up and played a full role in the development of international secondary education. She has led the design and implementation of a diversified curriculum framework covering IBDP, A Level, AP, NCUK, IFD and BTEC pathways.
  • Nyn completed an educational management programme at University College London (UCL). As an official examiner for IBDP Language B, she brings authoritative expertise in language teaching and assessment.
  • Nyn has received the title of “Outstanding Teacher” from the provincial Department of Education, the “Outstanding Contribution Award” from a well-known education group, and the title of “Advanced Educator” from the municipal government.

  • Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Child Development and Educational Psychology, and a professional training certificate in youth counselling issued by the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Freeman Kuang
Assistant Principal of HKDSE Programme of ISA International Education Group
  • With more than a decade of experience in IBDP and HKDSE education, Freeman brings both outstanding teaching outcomes and extensive curriculum management experience. He has previously served as Assistant Principal of the Secondary School Division at Guangzhou Ruisi International School and as Curriculum Director at the Hong Kong Secondary Education and Curriculum Development Centre. He has led and supported the development of DSE divisions at multiple secondary schools across the Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta region, and his work has been widely reported and well received by the media.
  • Freeman graduated from The Education University of Hong Kong with a Master’s degree in International Educational Leadership. He also holds the IB Leadership Practice Certificate, the UK Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (IQTS), a Hong Kong Registered Teacher Certificate and a National Senior Secondary School Teacher Qualification Certificate.

  • Flora joined the ISA Liwan Nansha IBDP programme in July 2023, where she served as Head of Moral Education and later as Assistant Principal, overseeing student affairs, admissions, marketing and operations. In February 2025, she moved to the ISA Liwan campus and became Assistant Principal of the International Secondary School Division, responsible for student affairs management, student activity organisation and home-school communication.
  • Flora holds a master’s degree from Sun Yat-sen University and has devoted more than 20 years to secondary education. She previously worked at the Affiliated High School of Sun Yat-sen University and has achieved strong teaching results, receiving multiple honours and awards.
